Christian Rap is fast becoming popular with a call for more diversity in Christian Hip-Hop. Here’s a look at the top female rap artistes you should know about.

Jackie Hill-Perry [@JackieHillPerry]

You’ve all heard the name. Jackie Hill-Perry is arguably the Queen of Christian hip-hop. Her knack for releasing quality introspective and thought-provoking music is incredible. Hill-Perry sets the bar with everything she does. Jackie’s album Crescendo is being regarded as a candidate for album of the year. It found it’s way onto the top 10 on the iTunes chart and proved to everyone that’s where she belonged. Her 2014 release, The Art of Joy is no slouch either. Outside of music, she is a prolific spoken word artist, public speaker, and an advocate for tough conversations surrounding Christianity and sexuality. She weaves through each of these hats with grace, and can now also add author to the list with ‘Gay Girl, Good God’.

Erica Mason is no stranger to the Christian Rap scene. She was the Rapzilla Freshman in 2017. Erica Mason has been releasing music since 2013 (her official release on Spotify). She made a name for herself as Pretty N Radical, but over time she has shown that she is more than pretty and radical with her most successful song to date Talks With Loneliness released on her 2019 album Seek Life. Erica is more than an artist behind the scenes she a songwriter, a motivational speaker on her Instagram page, and a savoy entrepreneurship with a clothing line. How does she find the time to put out music with everything that is going on in her life? Erica announced new music on the way, Erica is poised to release another classic in 2021. 

Kay Sade [@KaySade321]

Kay Sade also is known as “the young aliyah of rap” has been racking up an impressive resume during her young career. One half of the rap duo The KnuBlack making the Rapzilla Freshman List in 2017 the group then decided to break up a few years later. Still, the rapper/producer continues to make music while making a name for herself following the breakup. Kay’s released here first solo LP Meta in 2019 also the single with Dru Bex “ORORO” (which is in heavy rotation on 44 Radio). With a steadily growing following on social media and streaming numbers are climbing everyday Kay Sade is a name you need to look out for in the coming years. 

A.I The Anomaly [@aitheanomaly]

God Over Money artist A.I The Anomaly made a splash in Christian Hip Hop for her signing with Bizzle in 2019, but her bars are what has the streets talking. True to GOM style A.I is fewer bells and whistles she is more what you see is what you get. Proud Buffalo New York rapper A.I paid homage to her hometown with the song “Eastside.” A.I is no stranger to Christian rap it just took the community a while to see what she had. She just released a new project in 2020 “BLNKNVS” her storytelling will make you reminisce of when hip hop cared more about what they were saying verse gimmicks to sell records. A.I am here to stay. 

Wande [@omgitswande]

The first lady of 116 Wande made waves when she signed on the dotted line as the first woman on Lecrae’s Reach Records. Still, Wande was making waves before she signs to Reach. With her first LP “Exit” which helps here land on Michelle Obama playlist on Spotify with here record “Bless Up” which has racked up over 1 million streams to date. Wande is steadily setting a blaze with momentum only time will tell on how far Wande will go. 

DaShawn Shauntà [@DaShwnee]

DaShawn Shauntà is a newcomer in the contenders of top female Christian rappers. Dashawn might not be as known as the other artist on this list but her style is unique and she stands alone in one of the most talented artists in Christian Rap. Signed to RMG Amplify DaShawn steady workflow has gained her a strong following on platforms like Spotify and Pandora with songs like “Birthday” “Quarantino” and “Lxxve” Dashawn is going to let you know one thing after you hear her music that she is an original. 

Miss Walters [@MissWaltersGH]

Dubbed next big thing in the Christian rap music in Ghana and African – Linda Mireku popularly known by stage name Miss Walters is fast becoming a household name. Her debut single “New Born” expressly defined the rights and privileges of being a Christian and has since then seen massive love from the general public. Her song “You Are All I Need” featuring Scott Evans received massive recognition from all and sundry. Her debut album “Straight Outta Royal House” is still streaming across all digital platforms.

Abii Keren [@abiimasterpiece]

Abena Adwedaa known popularly as Abii Keren is a a UK based Christian singer, songwriter and rapper. With a love for Pop, RnB, Hip-Hop and alternative music, she writes with the aim of bringing hope to the world one song at a time. Her hope is that with every lyric, the Lord helps us gather the broken pieces and give each of them meaning. She’s been signed to 
E.R.A. Music Entertainment since 2017. Records in her name include “Zoe” “When I Found You” “You’re Beautiful” featuring DJ Ruel and Shadday Lumin amongst others.
