Profile | Alpha

Today on UGMB artiste profile we look at budding artiste Alpha. Versatile, cool, calm and composed, watch him minister and you’ll see the wonders of God. Now let’s get to know more about Alpha.

Adu-Brempong Charles is Alpha’s birth name. He was born and raised in Burma camp. He is a lover of good music, sports and art.

“Growing up i always had my peers and some old folks tell me I was a talkative it’s no wonder I rap charle”

He started music with the name “Yung Alpha”. He chose that as his showbiz because back in High School he was being called “Yung Alphabet” or “Alphabet Junior” by his class mates just because of his birth name “Adu-Brempong Charles” Junior (ABC). With time the name has evolved to “Alpha”.

“In recent times I have evolved to Alpha, giving my stage presence a new purpose meaning the first of my kind”

Although Alpha was born in a Christian home he didn’t really like gospel music because he really vibed with the secular genres more. He vibed with the secular genres in the sense that, the secular artist sounded more entertaining and attractive compared to gospel artiste.

“Back then I was actually into music for the fan of it up until I was evanglised to be Francis Agyin-Asare who lead me to accept Christ us my Lord and personal saviour in 2016. Prior to that I had met a lot of evangelist, heard a lot of messages on salvation. They were all the same to me though but there was something about Rev. Francis Agyin Asare’s message that convicted me and that turned my life around”

With time, he found purpose with his giftings and he also yearns to reach out to this generation to bring them to the saving knowledge of Christ. Alpha likes to describe his music as “Aroma of Sacrifice”. He is mainly a rap artiste who is into rap music but he is into other genres too with a gospel message.

Alpha has one album and a number of singles to his credit. He debut album “Transition” was released in 2017 and the feedback has been positive. His latest single “Dodo” with Reggie would definitely give you chills. Check out his discography below.

One of his dreams is to have a lot of devoted young ministers who will understand what they actually doing and will not just be performers.

“My vision for urban gospel music is to have a lot of devoted young ministers who will understand what they actually doing and will not just be performers”

He hopes to bring others in the world to the saving knowledge of Christ. Due to the perception he had about gospel music when he was unsaved, Alpha is hoping to make gospel music more attractive and appealing to make young guys like himself or better still his generation to be able to serve God with their gifts.

“To everyone that believes in my calling and ministry I love you”
