Revival Wins Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year at CGMA

Revival who is celebrating his official three (3) years into main stream Gospel music bagged home his first award during the weekend. The Reggae Dancehall Artiste was placed in the same category with the likes of Nat Abbey, Akese Brempong, Minister Kobby, Morphat and Malele Music.

The contemporary Gospel Music Awards Ghana –CGMA is an award scheme that is set to promote Ghana’s contemporary Gospel Music and Arts. The scheme according to the organizers aims at creating an unprecedented platform and conducive atmosphere to unearth, nurture and grow gifting’s and talents in the area of contemporary gospel in the country and diaspora.

Revival who is said to be working on his debut album has already released close to 4 singles off the “Everyday” Album. A couple of videos are also set to be released soon. He thanks everyone that has supported his music journey so far and asks Christians out there and the world at large to watch out for Gospel Reggae Dancehall music in Ghana.

Giving a shout out to Morphat in the auditorium he added;

People really do not even know we have Gospel Reggae Dancehall in Ghana but they should be ready for Blast soon because we are coming.

The night saw other urban gospel musicians picking up awards with The Kings’ Crew grabbing Afro Pop Song of the Year. The Rap Hip Hop Song of the Year went to Miss Walters for her song “Believer” whilst Kobby Salm bagged Urban Gospel Artiste of the Year. Seth Diamond picked up the award for RnB Soul Song of the Year with his song “Trust Issues” and also mounted the stage to wow the audience with his silky anointed voice. Other awardees on the night included Empress Gifty taking home two awards on the night;Traditional Artiste of the Year and the Traditional Song of the Year with Herty Corgie bagging the Female Artiste of the Year USA.

In wrapping up with Revival he also revealed some upcoming international collaborations that he has already kick started with other African acts as well as some International Reggae Dancehall artistes. Revival is also set to release at least two (2) more singles before the year ends. “NuhBody” will be released in the month of November and another Christmas song to celebrated his saviors birth.
